What data we collect

When you use Stay4Skill, we may collect:

• Account information — your email address, used to create and access your account via magic link.
• Profile information — your name, bio, city, skills, availability dates, social handles, and portfolio links. This is the information you choose to share publicly.
• Profile photos — uploaded images used as your profile avatar.
• Travel dates and cities — the dates and destinations you list on your profile to help hosts find you.
• Usage data — standard analytics on how you interact with the platform (pages visited, filters used) to help us improve the product.

What we never do

• We never sell your data to third parties.
• We never process financial transaction data. Stay4Skill is a barter platform — no money changes hands through us.
• We never share your contact details with another user until both parties have expressed mutual interest in a collaboration.

How we use your data

• To display your profile to potential hosts and collaborators.
• To send you match notifications and platform updates via email.
• To improve the matching algorithm and platform experience.
• To comply with applicable legal obligations.

Data storage

Your data is stored securely via Supabase, hosted on infrastructure that meets industry-standard security requirements. Profile photos are stored in a secure cloud bucket. We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion at any time.

Under GDPR and applicable data protection laws, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your account and associated data.
• Object to or restrict processing of your data.
